Branch chipping

The chipper comes to your yard and turns the branches from pruning, hedge trimming or a clean-up into wood chips. A pile of branches becomes a few bags of chips, which stay as mulch or are hauled away.

How it's done

The chipper parks next to the pile if there is access to it. Branches go in thick end first, and the chips come out onto a pile, into a bag or straight under the trees. Thorny canes, vines and dry branches are chipped together with the green ones. If you did the cutting yourself, gather the branches in one place and call: we come with just the machine.

When we say no

We don't chip branches with nails, wire or paint, or roots with soil and stones. They break the machine's blades.

Good to know

Fresh chips from green branches make good mulch under trees and shrubs, but not in the vegetable bed. Left to dry for a season, they also work for paths.
